Our Mission
To support local organisations or charities in need by providing a donation of appropriate training or a motor vehicle.
Our Vision
To provide organisations with the assistance required to enhance their offering to their relevant local community by offering suitable training and vehicles.
Our History
West Herts Transport Training Limited was initially formed in 1969 by hauliers in the Hemel Hempstead, Watford and St. Albans areas to train heavy goods vehicle drivers.

We began with one vehicle, operating from a farmyard near Hemel Hempstead, and progressed to Bovingdon, with a caravan as an office. A further move to Dunstable followed in 1975, and finally, we purchased and moved to a part of the Hadleigh Page airfield at Park Street near Radlett in 1985. A training centre was built and formally opened by the then Transport Minister, Mr Steve Norris, in 1995.
The group became one of the largest training groups in the South East of England with driver, forklift and management training.
In 2006 the training side of the company was sold. The offices and premises, however, were refurbished and leased to various companies. Our name also changed to West Herts Charity Trust (WHCT) Limited. The company's aim became to support and assist other charities by providing suitable training and vehicles, including minibuses.
To date, we have provided more than one hundred vehicles and minibuses - a number of which have wheelchair access - to local charities and organisations. These include Watford, St Albans and Berkhamsted Hospices; Scout Groups; Air Cadets; Mencap; Schools, Charities and other worthy causes. The value of our contributions over the last ten years has been well over £2 million.
The WHCT is a registered not-for-profit charity. We are primarily self-funded from the revenue our commercial premises provide. We do not pay dividends or remunerate our directors.

Our contribution is to assist other small charities and local organisations with their work. We believe that the assistance we provide is incredibly rewarding.
